This autumn, the London Cancer Hub is proud to unveil Sutton’s first padel courts, bringing a new dimension of wellbeing and community engagement to the campus. Located adjacent to the Innovation Gateway, the 4 covered courts are designed to support both tenant wellbeing and wider social impact goals.
Developed in partnership with Social Sports Society, the padel courts offer a unique opportunity for tenants, researchers, and local residents to connect through sport. Whether you're looking to unwind after a day in the lab or host a friendly match with colleagues, the courts provide a vibrant and inclusive space for recreation.
The temporary facility, which will be in place for up to seven years, is designed to evolve alongside the wider, long-term development of the London Cancer Hub and is built from sustainable materials, including reclaimed wood.

The courts are now open for bookings, with play available from 1st October 2025. Residents with proof of a local postcode, alongside London Cancer Hub staff and patients, are eligible for discounted rates, which can be accessed via the online booking portal.

Why Padel?
Padel is one of the fastest-growing sports in Europe. It's easy to learn, highly social, and perfect for all fitness levels. The courts are part of a broader initiative to promote health, collaboration, and community across the London Cancer Hub.
